About PNW Tides
The Pacific Northwest outer coast has some of the most powerful tidal conditions in the continental US. Mixed semi-diurnal tides produce two highs and two lows per day with significantly unequal heights. Tidal ranges run 8–12 feet along the Oregon and Washington coast, and the combination of wide tidal range, strong ocean swell, and steep beaches makes timing critical for any beach or coastal access.
TideSwell maps the outer coast stations from Northern California through Oregon to Washington's coast — separate from Puget Sound — giving you a clear picture of open-ocean tidal conditions from Crescent City to Neah Bay.
